The Girls on the Run Spring 2017 5k will take place on Saturday, May 6, 2017. We're delighted to once again be running on the College Community School District campus in Cedar Rapids! The address is: 401 76th Ave SW, Cedar Rapids, IA.
We will meet in the parking lot of Prairie High School. The 5k (3.1 miles) course will be mostly on pavement, with a small stretch of gravel path. The start and finish lines are also in the Prairie High School parking lot.
One water station will be available on the course, approximately 1.5 miles into the race. Port-a-potties will be available near the staging area. Thanks to donations from a number of generous businesses, refreshments will be available at the finish line.
Sorry, no pets or jogging strollers allowed on the course. Assisted athlete strollers are welcome. Remember that there will be around 600 young participants on the course, many taking part in their very first 5k event, and we want to make it as safe and distraction-free an experience as possible. Thank you for your understanding!
Questions? Contact us at [email protected]. See you at the 5k!
Be prepared to run in any weather! Come ready to go with the flow, whether it's raining, shining, or somewhere in between. If it is unsafe to run, no refunds will be given, and our Facebook page will be updated as soon as possible. Visualize sunshine!
Parking is available on the College Community School District campus off 76th Ave. between Prairie High School and Prairie Crest Elementary School. Other entrances to campus will be blocked off for the race.
