November 14, 2025

Despite the changes we are all experiencing right now, one thing remains constant - the commitment of Girls on the Run to the emotional and physical health and well-being of girls. While our fall season looks different, we are excited to offer a Virtual K Your Way. We encourage the Girls on the Run community to come together (virtually) to celebrate each and every girl in our program and her unstoppable strength, confidence, and resiliency.
8:30 AM | Welcome by executive director, Kelly Teeselink
9:00 AM | Warm-up with Coach Tina presented by Active Life Chiropractic
9:30 AM | Get moving and find your happy pace!
11:00 am | Cool down yoga led by Kelli Jackson Amato (recorded so you can use whenever you'd like!)
Other ways to participate

No interest in running or walking the 5K? No problem! Complete a GOTR Physical Activity Card. These cards include fun physical activity challenges that celebrate the joy of movement and highlight some of the important lessons that girls learn throughout our program. Select whichever card appeals to you and aim to complete as many of the activities you can.

You can post encouragement for our girls and runners on social media with #GOTREI5k and we’ll share it to show your support or you can chalk your neighborhood or trail with GOTR messages! These are all great ways to spread GOTR joy and help our girls build confidence!

Packet Pickup

There will be no packet pickup; you'll receive everything you need via email!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a virtual 5k?

A Virtual 5K is a physical activity challenge completed on your time schedule in your neighborhood, in your home, or other safe and accessible space. Girls, family members, and neighbors are all encouraged to join in the fun! All participants are encouraged to maintain appropriate social distancing and go at their own happy pace!

Are there alternatives to completing a 5K run or walk?

Yes! Girls on the Run is providing Physical Activity cards for you to creatively move in your home that will be considered equivalent to a 5K.

Can I invite friends and family to participate?

Yes! The beauty of a virtual race is that anyone, anywhere can join in the fun. Invite your out-of-state friends and family members, your teachers and principal. You can all participate together and share your experiences!

We will celebrate everyone's achievements through the pictures, videos, quotes and stories that you send in! If you are able please share your success by posting on our social media using #GOTREI5k (make sure the post is public!).

WHERE DO I ACCESS MY VIRTUAL RACE BIB?

All virtual race bibs will be sent to participants in the confirmation email and as well as in an email prior to race day.

IS THERE A FEE FOR PARTICIPATING IN THE VIRTUAL 5K?

The virtual 5k is free for all other walkers/runners/rollers. As always there is an option to support us via our 5k fundraiser!

How can I share my or my girl's accomplishent?

We would love to celebrate everyone’s achievements by posting pictures, quotes, and stories sent in by you! Please share your training and 5K journey by emailing pictures to [email protected] or posting on social media using #GOTREI5K and by tagging us on Facebook or Instagram.
